The game of volleyball is one game that requires great energy level and it is played by some of the best athletes across the world. Volleyball is famous in countries like Russia, Mexico, France, Japan, Romania, and Czechoslovakia. The popularity of the game can be easily judged from its position which is third as compared to other games. It was the year of 1957 when the game of volleyball got the recognition as the official sport for Olympics. In America the volleyball is not commonly played however the game is getting popularity at the school and college level. Efforts are being made to regularize the game of volleyball and in Texas, New York, Florida, and Pennsylvania state high school championships are being organized.

The game of volleyball is played with two teams and with a total of six players in a team. In the court three players are positioned near the net and three players at the back. While playing the ball should not touch the ground. The game of volleyball can be played both indoor and outdoor on a rectangular court. The rules are kept very simple for the game. One thing that should be kept in mind is that during the serve the ball should be clearly visible to the opponent side and the serve can be done in two ways underhand and overhand.

Three maximum hits are allowed for each side. You cannot touch the ball more than once and if done then it will be considered as a foul. The positions of the players in the front can be easily changed but only when the serve has been made. Rally scoring is used for the game of volleyball which is considered to be quite simple. The game is played to a maximum of 25 points. The scores will be counted for the defense miss or out of bounds hit. Defense can score on a faulty miss.
